Buah bunut “mango fruit” pattern is also known as buah bintang bertabur “scattered stars” offers insight on how a classic Indian trade cloth pattern became incorporated into the Iban weaving tradition at some early date, even though no patola silks or cottons have been documented as coming from Borneo longhouses.
