Bidayuh doors are particularly rich in reptilian iconography. They are believed to be depicting a creation myth with primal ancestors being "spit forth" from the mouths of great serpents. A door with the same motif group is in the collection of the Sarawak Museum in Kuching, the oldest museum in Borneo (1891). Another comparison is published in Hornbill and Dragon page 103.
