Among the Naga a man was not a man until he had succeeded at killing an enemy. In victory he was permitted to wear a cape of this type that is composed of stylized human figures representing his victims and circles, possibly stylized trophy heads, in cowrie shells juxtaposed with squares made from dog hair dyed red.
