This large fragment of a giant canopy features celestial nymphs and angels, parrots, florals and medallions, plus wonderfully deep colors. According to scholars, the drawing relates it to the Gujarati painting style; clearly this must have been made under royal patronage for a temple or the court. Other pieces of it are in the V&A, the Jagdish and Kamla Mittal Museum in Hyderabad and the Tapi collection, Mumbai and Surat.
